Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Primary School (KHS), Pune, with Codingal, is conducting an online CyberGenius 2022-23 'Scratch Competition' for Grade 1-4 students across India.

 

'Scratch Competition’ is an online coding hackathon where students can participate individually and stand a chance to win exciting prizes and certificates from Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Primary School.

 

Important Dates:

 

Registration Start Date: November 9, 2022

Registration Last date: December 31, 2022

Last date for project submission: December 31, 2022. 

Results Announcement: January 13, 2023

Grade 1-2: 

 

Theme 1: Underwater Game

Create a game using underwater as the background. Use fish as one of your sprites. You can use any other additional sprites of your choice to create the game.

 

Theme 2: Jungle Game

Create a game using the jungle as background. Use the lion, the king of the jungle as one of your sprites. You can use any other additional sprites of your choice to create the game.

 

 

Grade 3-4:

 

Theme 1: My Favourite Superhero

Think of your favourite superhero character. Build an app or a game with two sprites, you and the superhero, and show the conversation between the two of you.

 

Theme 2: Outdoor Game

Build an outdoor game using different land creatures as sprites.

 

Theme 3: My favourite Marvel character

Build a game by choosing your favourite Marvel character using animation, sound, and effects.

Winner gets:

 

• A trophy and a Certificate of Recognition from Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Primary School,
• An E-Certificate of Recognition, a T-Shirt and 30% scholarship on coding courses from Codingal. 

 

First Runner Up gets:

 

• A trophy and a Certificate of Recognition from Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Primary School,
• An E-Certificate of Recognition, a T-Shirt and 25% scholarship on coding courses from Codingal. 

 

Second Runner Up gets: 

 

• A medal and a ‘Certificate of Recognition' from Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Primary School.
• An E-Certificate of Recognition, a T-Shirt and 20% scholarship on coding courses from Codingal. 

 

All participants get:

• An E-Certificate of Participation from Codingal.
• 10% Scholarship on coding courses from Codingal.

How to register for the competition?

 

1. Click on the "Register Now" button.
2. You will see a small pop up form. Enter your mobile number and grade, and click on “Register Now." 
3. Once done, you will see another form. Enter your name, email, city, grade, mobile number, and school name. 
4. Click on "Complete Registration". You have successfully registered for the competition.

Is this competition online?

Yes, this competition is 100% online. The contestant can work on their project at any place and time as long as they have access to a computer/laptop and an internet connection.

 

I don't know how to code. Can I still participate?

Absolutely! You can book a free class to get started and prepare yourself to participate in the hackathon. To book a free class, click here .

 

How much does it cost to enter this competition?

There is no registration fee to participate in the competition.

 

Who can participate?

Students from grades 1-4 from India can only participate. 

 

Can I submit projects late?

Unfortunately, we do not accept late project submissions. All projects must be submitted by the project submission deadline (i.e., 31/12/2022). 

 

What if I forget my registered mobile number while submitting the project?

In case you forget your registered mobile number, you will have to re-register for the competition before submitting the project.

 

Will an old project be considered for evaluation?

No, an old or previously made project will not be considered for evaluation.

 

Can I submit more than one project?

No. Participants are limited to one project.
