Overview

BIT Mesra E-Summit'21 in collaboration with Codingal is conducting the "Technology for Good App Challenge" for Grade 1 to Grade 9 Students. 

 

It is an app development competition to help students begin their coding journey and showcase their coding talent. The students would be required to participate individually.

 

Format & Project

The competition is divided into 2 groups:

 

Junior Group (Grade 1 - Grade 4) 

Project: Students will have to develop an innovative app using only block-based applications like Thunkable, Scratch, etc.

 

Middle Group (Grade 5 - Grade 9)

Project: Students will have to develop an app using any block-based or programming applications in any field like Education, Safety, Sanitation, etc. which should resolve a problem or an issue.

Prizes

  • Top 3 Winners from each group will receive a certificate from BIT Mesra E-Cell

 

  • Top 3 Winners from each group will also receive merchandise from Codingal

 

  • Students submitting project will get a participation certificate from BIT Mesra E-Summit'21

Registration Guideline

 

There is a 2-level registration for the competition.

Mobile Number Verification

  1. When you click on the "Register Now" button, you will have to input your mobile number. (This will be the primary source of identification while submitting the projects)
  2. Verify your mobile number through the OTP received.

Project Submission Guideline

 

Go to the "Competitions" tab on the Codingal website

 

Click "Register Now"

 

Click "Register Now" on the "Kids Appfest 2021" competition page

 

Enter your registered mobile number.*

 

Enter 6 digits OTP number

 

For registered kids " Register now" button will turn to the "Submit Project" button.

 

Click "Submit Project"

 

Fill or Upload the following information for Project Submission

 

  1. Competition Group - Junior School/Middle School/Senior School*
  2. Topic* 
  3. Project Name*
  4. Development Platform*
  5. Project File (apk file)
  6. Project Link
  7. Project Description*
  8. Upload zip file of screenshots/images of the app (should not be more than 50 MB)
  9. Upload zip file of screenshots/images of source code (should not be more than 50 MB)

 

*These are mandatory fields to fill or upload

  1. Why do I need to register using a mobile number?
    Mobile number is the primary identification source when you enter the competition and would like to submit the project towards the same
     
  2. Is this competition online?
    Yes, this competition is 100% online. The contestant can work on their project at any place and time as long as they have access to a computer/laptop and an internet connection.
     
  3. How much does it cost to enter into this competition?
    There is no registration fee to participate in the competition.
     
  4. Can I submit projects late?
    Unfortunately, we do not accept any late projects. All projects must be submitted by the project submission deadline.
     
  5. What if I forget my registered mobile number while submitting the project?
    In case, you forget your registered mobile number, you will have to re-register for the competition before submitting the project
     
  6. I have entered the wrong information in one of the form fields while submitting my project.
    If you have entered the wrong information in one of the form fields, refresh the page before clicking on the "Submit Project" button at the bottom of the form
     
  7. Will the old project consider for evaluation?
    No, any old or previous project will not be considered for evaluation.
     
  8. Can I submit more than one project?
    No. You can submit only one project per competition.
